Nottinghamshire Police have asked that the village be aware of the following statement from them.

Following further reports of dogs running loose in Lound Officers visited the premises where the dogs were living and issued the owner with a Community Protection Warning Letter, the owner accepted the letter and has arranged for them to be re homed away from Lound. It is believed that the dogs that have been removed are the ones that have been running loose and killing chickens more recently as well as other animals previously. Whilst we believe that this is the case we would still ask that if any further dogs are seen to be running loose in and around the village that people please ring this into the Dog Warden at Bassetlaw District Council. If the dogs are found to be loose and worrying livestock or pets then we would advise that people call the Police on  101.
