Sparks will fly when retired firefighters take to the streets to raise money for two worthy causes.

Pensioners Kenny Ashton and Stuart Bussingham have decided to walk for up to 40 minutes or one mile. But this will be a fundraiser with a difference, as Kenny is an amputee and Stuart has Lewy Body Dementia. “We both have been involved in raising funds and awareness in the past”, said Stuart. “And on this occasion we are supporting charities close to our hearts.” “I live at Lound Hall Nursing Home and want to boost our leisure and entertainment funds.” “And Ken and I both want to make a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity too,” Stuart added. Stuart will walk along Chainbridge Lane with his walking aid and Kenny will self propel in his wheelchair. Stuart said ” So many people need our help and this seemed a good way to do it while keeping fit at the same time.” ” So we will give it our best shot to raise as much cash as possible and inspire others at the same time.” The walk will take place on Sunday 23rd July at 2.15 pm. Anyone who would like to sponsor the plucky twosome may do so by calling 01777 705134 or by supporting them on the big day.
