Lound Bird Club warmly welcomes anyone interested in birds and wildlife. We’d love to share our passion and knowledge of birds with you.
We are first and foremost a bird club, with a passion for birds. But we also take an active interest in insects, mammals and plants on the reserve.

Our winter programme of monthly evening talks:
Our next talk, on Wednesday 24th September at 7.00 pm, will be:
‘Lound Bird Club – The Birds and History of the Idle Valley Nature Reserve’

We host indoor talks on the fourth Wednesday evening of every month at Sutton cum Lound village hall. We have recently had something of a re-launch. So our first talk for this winter season will be a welcome to Lound Bird Club, giving all newcomers the chance to meet the members. We’ll begin with some tea / coffee / soft drinks and nibbles.
Our illustrated talks will cover birds, birdwatching and other wildlife and natural history. Details of our programme of speakers to be published very soon. (Please note – no talk on December 24).

The club also leads walks around the Idle Valley Reserve:
>Sunday 21st September (9.00 am – 12:00 midday)
>Sunday 2nd November 2025 (9.00 am – 12.00 noon)
>Sunday 11th January 2026 (9.00 am – 12.00 noon)
These walks are free with no need to book, just turn up! The walks last around three hours and are taken at a gentle pace, stopping to enjoy and identify the birds and other wildlife that we see along the way.
